• Alpena Parks & Trails - Alpena has a nice paved trail system that meanders around the city and near Thunder Bay. The city has several nice parks on Thunder Bay and Thunder Bay River.
  
  
• Tawas City & East Tawas Trails, Beaches, Parks, Etc. - Tawas Point State Park, East Tawas City Park, and Tawas City's City Park have nice beaches on Tawas Bay. A trail for biking, walking, and jogging goes through Tawas City and East Tawas.
  
  
• North Eastern State Trail - The North Eastern State Trail is used for snowmobiling, mountain biking, and hiking. The trail connects Alpena, Aloha, Cheboygan, Hawks, Millersburg, Onaway, and Posen.
  
  
• Grayling Area Parks - The Grayling area is a recreational playground with biking, hiking, fishing, and canoeing options aplenty. Hartwick Pines State Park is a short drive or bike ride from downtown Grayling.

• Mackinaw City Parks & Trails - Mackinaw City serves as the starting point for a couple of lengthy recreational trails. The city also has several nice city parks along the Straits of Mackinac, which are connected by a walking route.
