Portage Area Bike Routes & Trails Map

Trails shown: The paved Portage Bikeway goes from the Trailhead Park at Kilgore Rd. & Lovers Lane to Celery Flats and South Westnedge Park. At Celery Flats, you can go northwest to Millenium Park and Haverhill Park, and finally to McGillicuddy Lane. There are also trails along a few city streets.

Bishop's Bog Preserve, Schrier Park, and West Lake Nature Preserve have paved and unpaved hiking trails. Lexington Green Park has a grassy hiking trail. WMU Asylum Lake Preserve on Parkview Avenue has several lengthy hiking trails.

Lakeview Park and Harbors West Park have paved trail loops that can be used for walking, jogging, and roller-blading.

Bike Routes shown: The Portage Bikeway uses bike lanes along marked streets within the city limits.

You can ride between Portage, Texas Township, Schoolcraft and Vicksburg using several bike routes. On Texas Drive, you need to share the road and ride on the outside of the vehicle lane. On 8th Street, Portage Road, Sprinkle Road, VW Avenue and W Avenue, you can ride on the paved shoulder.
