Just a short drive from US-131, Reed City is a popular spot with snowmobilers, who use the miles of trails in the area from December to March. The downtown area has several stores and restaurants, and more can be found along Chestnut/Business US-10 on the southern edge of town.
Recreational Trails
Reed City is a great spot to access the
Pere Marquette Trail and the
Fred Meijer White Pine Trail. The two trails intersect in downtown Reed City, just east of the trailhead parking lot off Crescent/Business US-10. The two trails rank among the most popular trails in Michigan and are used year-round.
Snowmobilers love to use the Pere Marquette Trail between Reed City and Baldwin and the section of the White Pine Trail between Reed City and Cadillac.
The Fred Meijer White Pine Trail is paved south of Reed City to Big Rapids and is used by cyclists and joggers from April to November. The section between Reed City and Cadillac is dirt/gravel and can be rugged in spots.
The Pere Marquette Trail is dirt/gravel between Reed City and Baldwin and between Reed City and Clare.
Park Facilities
On the corner of Higbee and Bittner, there is a large playground and a basketball court, close to Norman Elementary.
