The Waterloo Recreation Area features many lakes for fishing, boating, and kayaking. A swimming beach is located at the Portage Lake Unit.

Trails included: The Waterloo/Pinckney Trail is used for hiking and snakes its way to near Green Lake Campground. The equestrian trail winds over hills and through wooded areas. A single track bike trail is located near Maute Road. Note: These trails go through areas open to hunting, so you may NOT want to use the trails during the fall's hunting seasons.

Boat launches: Located at Big Portage Lake, Cedar Lake, Crooked Lake, Doyle Lake, Mill Lake, Mud Lake, Walsh Lake, and Winnewana Lake. Small boats and kayaks are best suited for the launches at Mud Lake, Mill Lake, and Walsh Lake.

Campgrounds: Green Lake Campground, Equestrian Campground, Portage Lake Unit Campground, and Sugar Loaf Lake Campground are located within Waterloo Recreation Area.

Attractions: Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center, Cedar Lake Outdoor Center, Mill Lake Outdoor Center, Waterloo Farm Museum, and Dewey School Museum.

Bike Route shown: Along M-52, cyclists can ride on the paved shoulder between Chelea and Stockbridge. The shoulder is typically over a foot wide.
