The Kiwanis Trail is a paved trail for jogging, walking, and biking that goes from Adrian to south of Tecumseh, ending at Green Hwy. and Ives Road. The 8-mile path offers views of the River Raisin, Lenawee County Courthouse, residential areas, farmland and more. Adrian's Riverview Trail is part of the Kiwanis Trail, and you will see Riverview Trail signs near the path in a few spots.
In Tecumseh, you will need to ride, walk or jog two miles south along Adrian Street and Green Hwy. to reach the Kiwanis Trail trailhead at the corner of Green Hwy. and Ives Road.
Restroom facilities are not far from the trail at Trestle Park. Picnic facilities are available at Riverside Park, Trestle Park and Comstock Park in Adrian. There are also picnic tables next to the trail, south of Maumee Street.
Adrian was founded in 1826 by Addison Comstock, and city contains many beautiful old buildings and historic locations. The impressive Lenawee County Courthouse was completed in 1885. Other historic locations in downtown include Adrian Engine House No. 1 (1855), Burnham Historical Building (1865), Croswell Opera House (1866), and Lenawee County Historical Museum (formerly the library, 1909). The Dennis and State Street Historic District is a residential neighborhood in Adrian with many beautiful, elegant homes. The district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
Adrian City Hall, Adrian Public Library, Adrian Police, Adrian Chamber of Commerce, and the historic Croswell Opera House are located next to each other on Maumee Street in downtown Adrian.
Tecumseh has many beautiful Victorian-era homes, and the Tecumseh Area Historical Society is a great place to learn about the history of Tecumseh and surrounding communities.
Tecumseh Center for the Arts is an excellent place to see live theater and performances. The 572-seat facility is the pride of Tecumseh and hosts national acts and productions throughout the year.
