Following the path of an old railroad route, the Falling Waters Trail meanders past rolling acres of farmland in Jackson County. Starting at River Street in Concord, the trail travels east/northeast to Jackson, connecting with the Intercity Trail in Jackson. The paved trail is used for bicycling, jogging, walking, and rollerblading.

There is parking at the Concord trailhead and in Jackson at New Leaf Park on Fourth Street and at M.L. King Park. You can also park at Sparks Park in Jackson and follow the bike route on Fourth Street to the Intercity Trail and then ride southwest on the Falling Waters Trail to Concord. It's approximately 12.5 miles from Fourth Street in Jackson to River Street in Concord.

Cities Near the Trail

Jackson is home to the Cascades Falls, an historic summertime attraction at Sparks Park. Ella Sharp Park in southern Jackson has interesting museums, a pool, and recreational facilities. One of the nicest fairs in the Southern Michigan is held each July at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, which also hosts a colorful light display around Christmas-time.

Concord is a rural community with a charming downtown area and historic churches that date back to the early 1800s.
