The Pinckney Recreation Area features many lakes for fishing, boating, and kayaking. Swimming areas, picnic shelters, volleyball courts, and picnic areas are provided at Silver Lake and Halfmoon Lake.

The Waterloo/Pinckney Trail is used for hiking. The trailhead is near the parking lot at the Silver Lake Day Use Area. The trail snakes its way through the recreation area and continues in the Waterloo Recreation Area.

The Equestrian Trail can be accessed from the horse staging area on the south side of Monks Road. The trail also leads to the Hell Creek Ranch Camphground.

Boat launches: Located at Halfmoon Lake, North Lake and South Lake.

Kayak launches: Located at Gosling Lake, Hiland Lake, Joslin Lake, Sullivan Lake, and Silver Lake Day Use Area.

Campgrounds: Bruin Lake Campground is located in Unadilla Township. A rustic campground is located near Crooked Lake. Campers can also stay in the yurt that is located north of Halfmoon Lake. The map also shows Green Lake Campground, which is in the Waterloo Recreation Area.

Attractions: Hell, Michigan is a noteworthy location near the recreation area. Dam Site Inn and Hell Country Store & Spirits are favorite attractions for visitors.

Bike Route shown: Along M-52, cyclists can ride on the paved shoulder between Chelea and Stockbridge. Obey traffic laws and stay alert when riding next to the road.
